Blog geschlossen

Macht‘s gut!

Liebe Grüße

Clemens

Camp Barrington: Day 28

We made it! All the extra guys are gone! After breakfast, Daniel and Kenny were the first ones who left us. A little bit later, Sally was picked up by her family. The guys were all pretty sad, promised to come back next year and I think they really enjoyed the week(s)/month in Leander House. And I am sure that we will miss them too, at least some times….

Nobody picked Louis up so we drove him back to Camphill, where we also visited Pricilla. It was really funny; she was so happy to see us and showed us the whole village. Back in Leander House, I made lunch and cleaned the house. For dinner, we were invited to Raphael’s good-bye party (he will stay another two weeks, the party was just for the guys) with all the other communities. The weather was pretty good so we had a nice barbecue outside. Afterwards, I went jogging, brought Michael to bed and now I am keeping the house, because Jennie went out. And tomorrow, I will finally go to the NY outlet centre with Martin and his parents.

Camp Barrington: Day 27

We almost made it. Today was the last full „Camp Barrington“-Day. After breakfast, I worked out with Kenny and Sally in the gym. In the afternoon, we finished the books for the guys (every camp visitor gets one book full of pictures, comments and memories), packed already a little bit, went food shopping and cooked pizza for the final “Pizza Party”. In the evening, Martin came with his parents and we celebrated Daniel’s birthday, even though his real birthday will be next week. Now we just cleaned the kitchen, Jennie has a meeting and the guys are watching a movie and I am happy to have some free minutes.

Camp Barrington: Day 26

Another busy camp-day. In the morning, we cleaned the kitchen and managed the daily chaos around the guys. I also found some time to test my new heart rate monitor during my usual jogging round around Lake Mansfield. After lunch, Jennie and I drove with the guys to Scott’s home town, where we went to a museum of Eric Carle (the artist who draw “the very hungry caterpillar” = die kleine Raupe Nimmersatt”). Afterwards we went out to a restaurant and a concert where Scott’s dad performed. And now it’s already pretty late, we just came back and Michael is waiting for me.

Free-Day with Camille

My little "sister" Camille

My third last free-day in Great Barrington was quite relaxing. After breakfast, I picked up Camille (Jennie’s daughter) and we drove to Holyoke, which is in the near of Springfield. There, we went to the Mall; I tried to find a suit (at least I know my American size now) and we spent several hours in the big shopping town. Afterwards, we stopped at Lee; in the evening, I worked out in the gym. And now, I will test my new Heart Rate Monitor and wait for Martin’s parents – they should arrive in the next hours and will spend a few days here in the Berkshires.

Camp Barrington: Day 24

Unfortunately, we had to cancel the water park in Pittsfield because it rained again. So we didn’t really do much in the morning; after lunch, we went bowling and food shopping. Then, we cooked dinner, afterwards, we drove to Pittsfield to the movie theater to see a movie with the guys. An easy day.

Camp Barrington: Day 23

Action in "Blue Riders"

In the morning, Martin, Kenny and Daniel worked out in the gym and I went with Jennie, Michael, Louis and Sally to “Blue Riders” to ride. Michael wasn’t relaxed this time; he was actually quite upset as soon as he was on the donkey – probably too much pressure. Louis and Sally also rode – they realy enjoyed it. Back in Leander House, we had lunch. Unfortunately, we had to cancel our program for the afternoon (rent a boot and drive on Twin Lakes) because it was just raining the whole day. Instead of that, Martin and I drove with the guys to “Mass MoCa”, a modern art museum behind Pittsfield. And in the evening, we had dinner in Leander House and just relaxed.
